GRAND RAPIDS, MI / (September 25, 2017) – The Michigan Business Innovation Association (MBIA) is excited to announce the launch of the 2nd Great Lakes International Innovation Summit (GLIn2) Tuesday, September 26 thru Thursday, September 28 at the JW Marriott in downtown Grand Rapids.
 
Innovation Happens Everywhere is the theme for this year’s conference. MBIA is co-hosting the Summit in Grand Rapids during MBIA is co-hosting the Summit in Grand Rapids during ArtPrize, along with 18 organizations in Michigan, Illinois, Wisconsin, Indiana, and Canada. MBIA President Sandra Cochrane thought this would be a great lead-in to begin MBIA’s transition from Michigan Business Incubator Association to Michigan Business Innovation Association. “Innovation is the name of the game in all aspects of life. Innovate, evolve, grow—whatever word you use, they all come down to the one thing in life that is inevitable—change,” says Cochrane.
 
Keynote Speaker John DeGraff will present at the Innovation Lunch on Wednesday, September 26. DeGraff is a guerrilla-marketing, brand-development mastermind. DeGraff is an Adjunct Marketing Professor at the University of Wisconsin Whitewater and Managing Partner for the Innovatrium and Competing Values consulting firm. Prior to joining Innovatrium, DeGraff was the Director of Marketing at Gerber Baby Food where he launched more than 150 new products and generated more than $1 billion in revenue.
 
Networking will begin Tuesday evening at 5 p.m. at The Kitchen by Wolfgang Puck at the Amway Grand Hotel.  Workshops, networking, and roundtables will run all day on Wednesday and Thursday morning. Over a dozen sessions with almost 40 industry experts will be fit into four tracks: Serving Clients, Program Improvement and Management, Industry Trends, and Profiles in Innovation (Community Showcase).
